Our core team
DIBAH JIVA
DIBAH JIVA is a doctor in Ophthalmology and the founder of the Medical School Application Guide (The MSAG) since 2008. Besides her clinical work, she works as a consultant with eight years of experience, helping prospective applicants get into medical school. She blends her experience with her passion for coaching people to guide them through a personalised journey to becoming a doctor. She graduated in the summer of 2012 from the 4-year Graduate Entry Medicine programme at the University of Nottingham (UK). Before this, she graduated with an honours degree in Nutrition from McGill University (Canada). She loves travelling and cooking delicious meals for friends.
IRUM SUNDERJI
IRUM SUNDERJI is a Cardiology registrar training in Kent, Surrey and Sussex. She completed her medical degree at Imperial College London and her intercalated BSc in Bioethics at Bristol University. Irum is one of our Interview Course lead. She also offers one-to-one personalised interview coaching. She aims to equip prospective medical students with invaluable skills that will not only help them to obtain a place at medical school, but will be invaluable in their journey as a medical professional. Irum's passion lies in not just educating, but inspiring a future generation of doctors and the leaders of tomorrows’ healthcare profession.
TRISHA SRI
TRISHA SRI is currently a second year GP trainee at St Helier hospital in South London. Having completed her pre-clinical years at the University of Cambridge, she went on to complete her clinical training in London. She finds teaching incredibly satisfying and teaches medical students as well as being a qualified OSCE examiner at St George’s University of London.She hopes to continue to be involved in medical education when she qualifies as a GP.
GABRIELLA YONGUE
GABRIELLA YONGUE is a doctor, working as a locum Senior House Officer (SHO) in London with interests in general surgery and obstetrics and gynaecology. She studied at Imperial College London, gaining two degrees: A Bachelor of Science (hons) in Surgery and Anaesthesia and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS). She is a ‘music nerd’, classically trained on the cello, piano, double bass and singing. She also loves travelling as well as general fitness.
OONAGH KING
OONAGH KING is a Pathology registrar in Belfast. She studied Medicine and Pharmacology (intercalated BSc) at Queen's University Belfast and completed a Master's degree in Literature and Medicine at King's College London. She has a passion for medical education and outside of Medicine has worked for a mental health charity setting up a financial capability project. She also enjoys singing in choirs.
JAMES PEERS
JAMES PEERS is a GP trainee in the Derbyshire area having graduated with a BMBS from Nottingham University in 2012. He has a pharmaceuticals background from a previous career and holds a B.Eng in chemical engineering and an MSc in pharmaceutical chemistry. He works for the MSAG part-time because he enjoys the opportunity to teach and it helps him keep abreast of current issues in medicine.
DAVID SAUNDERS
DAVID SAUNDERS is a Registrar in Ophthalmology currently working inSalisbury District Hospital having completed his foundation trainingin Leicester. He graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2011where he played for the university hockey team. His interests include vegan food and the British Museum.
ANDREAS HADJINICOLAOU
ANDREAS HADJINICOLAOU is currently a Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Oxford where he is reading for a DPhil in Immunology, Cancer and Molecular Biology whilst practising as a clinician in General Medicine. He studied Natural Sciences and Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge obtaining a Distinction and receiving several academic prizes. He has also received training at Stanford University as a Welcome Trust research scholar and has authored numerous papers in scientific peer-reviewed journals. Besides teaching, Andreas enjoys sport, especially football and tennis, as well as voluntary work, reading, travelling and spending time with friends.
ASHISH MANDAVIA
ASHISH MANDAVIA is an FY2 doctor at Lewisham and Greenwich trust in London. He has excelled in the areas of clinical Medicine and data analytics over his six years at Bristol Medical School. Ashish has a clinical interest in Ophthalmology.  His experience is backed up by theoretical knowledge in Business Strategy, Accounting and Marketing during a B.Sc. Medicine with Management at Imperial College. His medical entrepreneurial ambitions led him to set up the ‘Bristol Medical Leadership and Management’ society at his university. Outside of Medicine, his interests include Liverpool football club, cricket and zombie movies!
MANUSHRI JAIN
MANUSHRI JAIN is currently reading Medicine at The University of Birmingham. She has taken a year out explore an interest in research, while working towards attaining a Bachelor of Science degree. In the past few years she has volunteered in the OSCE training courses run by the Royal Society of Medicine, and continues to volunteer at the University as an interviewer for students coming through the widening programme. Having studied in India, Belgium and now the UK, she is able to communicate in six languages; an area of knowledge she only hopes to build on!
Rony Sanyal
Rony Sanyal (Interview coach) is currently a foundation year two working in Lincoln County Hospital. He is looking to start his training as a GP registrar from August 2017. He graduated from Leicester Medical School and worked as a FY1 in Nottingham City Hospital. Here he was able to develop his interest and passion for teaching by organising Situational Judgement Test teaching sessions for medical students. He is currently an examiner for Nottingham Medial School applicants in 2017. Outside of work his hobbies lie the choreography and creation of asian/western musical pieces and competitive or social badminton.
Karam Ahmad
Karam Ahmad (Interview coach) is a foundation year one doctor working in Cheshire in the North West of England. He studied at the University of Manchester where he has gained experience in interviewing students from the local widening participation scheme. He has an interest in surgery and medical education.
MARINE THIZON
MARINE THIZON benefits from an international experience in policy work and government relations. She worked in France, New Zealand and Belgium before moving to the UK. She appreciates the opportunity, while working for the MSAG, to widen access into the medical profession which she believes is a vocation. She is the acting MSAG Communications and Business Development Director.
ALY KARIM
ALY KARIM has been working in the Finance Industry in the UK over the past three years, before which he had studied and worked in Canada. Originally graduating with a degree in Biology, he has subsequently studied finance/accounting, healthcare management and statistics. Working with the MSAG, Aly is able to combine his passions for healthcare, education and financial management as the Finance & Operations Director.
CAROL CHARLTON
CAROL CHARLTON has been our secretary for over four years now. She does an amazing job keeping in contact with all the medical schools, helping us to obtain all of the very unique information that cannot easily be found on prospectuses and the internet.
