The MSAG Team
Dr Dibah Jiva, Director and founder of the medical school application guide ltd.
I am junior doctor and the founder of the medical school application guidebooks since 2004. Besides my clinical work, I work as an admissions consultant for prospective applicants. I have 7 years of experience helping applicants get into medical school. My deep understanding of the admissions process gives me a unique insight into the worries of prospective applicants. I blend my experience with my passion for coaching people to guide you through a personalised journey to become a doctor. I graduated in the summer of 2012 from the four-year Graduate Entry Medicine programme at the University of Nottingham (UK). Before this, I graduated with an honours degree in Nutrition from McGill University (Canada).
Arwinder Singh has led the updates of both UK guidebooks for this latest edition. I asked him to join the team as it was obvious to me the added value he would bring to the medical school application guide. He is enthusiastic, hard working and full of initiative. He has brought a fresh look to the UK guidebooks. Focused exclusively on helping applicants getting the best possible information, he conscientiously updated all the information saving applicants hundreds of hours doing it themselves. He also compiled new tables making it easier to use the book and he is now gathering data about help available to prospective applicants.
He is also an award winning and published student having shown initiative and innovation in the field of patient care and experience. He has many publications in a number of peer-reviewed journals and is still working hard for the improvement of NHS delivered care. His work has been acknowledged by the NHS, who presented him with an Innovation Award for service and commitment to patient safety.
James Carmichael is a graduate of Edinburgh University where he read Biological Sciences with honours in physiology. He is about to embark on a degree in medicine at Manchester University. He has been leading key updates of the Worlwide guidebook, gathering up to date information on English taught programmes accross the globe. He is also helping develop step by step algorythms to help applicants choose the medical school where they have the best chance of getting in.
